CHEF

Approximately 3 months.  You love traveling to new regions to gain fresh culinary techniques and learn about new locales and bring your own expertise and skills to a kitchen.


Chef will be responsible for providing own housing and will receive a salary.

Restaurant to provide housing for incoming chef.


This is typically a couple of days and unpaid.


Restaurants sending their chefs should pay travel expenses.

A 1-3 week period when a chef would be part of your kitchen.  This could be for many reasons; your chef unexpectedly left, a chef is on family or maternity leave, kitchen staff member on vacation, you have an unfilled chef position in your kitchen, or just want to have new culinary ideas for longer than a stage.


Restaurant should provide housing and a stipend to incoming chef.


A dual exchange would be when you are sending your chef out and asking for a chef to join your kitchen.


Any restaurant sending their chef to an exchange should provide travel expenses for chef.

Restaurant should provide a standard, contracted rate salary to incoming chef.

A 1-3 week period when you would be part of another kitchen. This could be for many reasons; your restaurant is sending you on an exchange to gain fresh ideas, or maybe you have vacation time and prefer to spend it cooking in a new setting or learning something completely new. 


Chefs should expect to work and bring their own tools and knives.


Travel expenses should be paid by the restaurant you are employed full-time by unless you are doing this on your own time, then to be paid by self.
